2022 Teacher supplies $100 grant program

Thanks to all who purchased our crayons and supported our school supply recycling program and crayon recycling program, we were able to raise $300 for local teachers this year. We would like to give $100 for three teachers in Warrick County to support their educational spending through our Teacher Supplies $100 Grant Program.

“$300” may not be a lot in monetary terms. However, we accomplished a lot besides raising money. We not only diverted 300 pounds of school supplies from landfills, but also made use of all of the unused school supplies to support children in need in Warrick County.

We could also donate all of the gently used school supplies to local teachers. We could reach more teachers and schools this year — 13 teachers from Elbefeld, Chandler, Oakdale elementary schools, Tecumseh High School, and Noah’s Ark preschool.

We were able to support international students at USI too!

To support local teachers AND reduce crayon wastes, we UPCYCLED crayons this year as well. We used all of the old and broken crayons (30 pounds in total) and sold all of the UPCYCLED crayons. Thank you all who purchased our crayons!!!

Last but not least, I’d like to thank our passionate volunteers, Karson from Castle North and Izumi!!! UPCYCLING crayons is extremely labor-intensive and time-consuming. Without their help, this wouldn’t have been possible. Their hard work and dedication are greatly appreciated.

If you are a teacher of one of the schools (k-12 / public / private / special education) located in Warrick County and interested in receiving the grant, please send a form below. The submission deadline is 6pm, April 29, 2022. Grant recipients will be announced on May 3, 2022, Teachers’ Day, via our Facebook page.
