グラフから、牛を育てるときにえさとなる牧草に１番多くの水、そして穀物を育てるのに２番多くの水が必要なことがわかる。牛一頭あたり、牧草には６０万リットル、穀物には２０万リットル、合わせて８０万リットルもの水が消費されている。このことから、牛肉の生産にたくさんの水が必要な理由は、牛の飼育にえさとなる牧草と穀物を育てるのに、たくさんの水が必要であることがわかる。
